Yggdrasil, a pathetic excuse of a worldtree-cum-digital-god, chose to rope in random samplings of people from multiple universes to play cannon fodder and toy soldiers in its war with the Demon Lords. The Demon Lords, not to be outdone, sometimes take these toy soldiers, slap Seals on them, and sometimes get them to do their bidding.

Thus, welcome to hell. You've been forced into a war by a power none of us can hope to find access to. If you're lucky, you'll find a support network to help you settle in and back you up.

I got ripped out of a good career that involved saving thousands of people yearly, away from a loving husband and the home and financial support I worked so hard to build, with none of my status, friends, and purpose in life, and for what?

It was hardly perfect, what with the war at home and being the Chosen of Darkness and all, but at least I had something there. Here I have nothing. And really, the war here cannot be ignored for happy kidlet funtimes.

Oh, don't worry, I'm not into kids. I will say this, though: On my world, thousands of children are starving each day, or are victim to the current Subsaharan African political turmoil, or are child soldiers and mothers themselves. Not all children are as lucky as her and she should count herself fortunate that she does not share those realities from my world.

There are many alternatives besides resorting to drinking. Like, oh, sleeping it off?

You find a place to stay, perhaps a job. If you're lucky, you'll fall into a group of friends.

I recommend Neon City's Hyperion Inn for the long run, it's owned by a friendly fellow named Lorne. In the short term, there are a few rooms at Axoryi's hospital not in immediate use. I can have it arranged so that you're at least looked to for a couple of days.
